I heard a most interesting reason to buy diamonds, but I'm not sure I really heard it. I do possess selective hearing and it causes some most hilarious moments in my existence.
If you listen to any radio station in Denver, you will most certainly hear several...thousand...advertisements per year for the Shane Company - - a very old, established jewelry company.
Any native will be able to tell you exactly where each of Tom Shane's fabulous locations are and how amazing the quality of his diamonds are because Tom himself has voiced his own advertisements since the dawn of time, burning his dulcet tones into Coloradoan brains for generations.
In fact, if I heard right, this holiday season, folks will be flocking to Shane Co. because their diamond solitaires...

A truly tempting reason to skip off and buy a diamond, don't you think? If this really is the case, I may opt for the cubic zirconia. Lab-grown diamonds may have less of a loogie-like sheen.
